- Background
- A Maha Nikaya temple in Ban Hua Tha; the temple registry gives 1782 as the founding year. It is said that a wandering monk founded it at a canal-side pier as Wat Hua Tha. After long abandonment, settlers found the ruins and rebuilt it as Wat Pradu, named after a large pradu tree. Abbot Phra Khru Wattachari Sin Sunthon later renamed it Wat Sunthon Niwat.
