- Background
- In the centre of Surat Thani town; old documents call it "Wat Pho". The temple registry gives 1787 as the founding year. It is known for Luang Pho Klom Nantha (Phra Khru Withun Thammasat), ordained here in 1870, abbot from about 1890–1891 and district ecclesiastical head for some 24 years, who restored the temple. He died on 23 January 1931.
