Background

A Maha Nikaya temple at the foot of Khao Nang Phao, with both a temple compound and a cave. The temple registry gives 1701 as the founding year. Antiquities have been found in both, notably a group of red sandstone Buddha images in the old ubosot, thought to date from the Ayutthaya period. It has had 16 known abbots and opened a Pali school in 2002.
