- Background
- Known locally as Wat Bang Duean, the temple grew out of villagers' faith in Luang Pho Phua Kesaro (Phra Khru Sathit Santakhun). Born in Bang Duean on 7 December 1876 and ordained in 1897 at Wat Tha Khlong, he led villagers in building the temple and became its first abbot. He died on 31 January 1965, aged 88.
