- Background
- An old Maha Nikaya temple of Tha Chang; the registry gives 1767 as the founding year. From around 1900 it was the model temple of the district, then called Bang Nam Chuet, and a centre for Buddhist scripture studies. Abbot Phra Khru Yuttakotthayatikit (1907-1945) ordained Luang Pu Roem Wimalo here in 1920; Luang Pu Roem later became abbot and district ecclesiastical head.
